“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.”
― Émile Zola
MICHAEL CRAIG-MARTIN
Pupils explored this Irish born artist in order to think about colour and composition; two key elements they are learning to understand.
Part of the cultural influences within the Tangles project was to look at Pakistani Truck Art. These fantastic vehicles are highly decorated buses that represent the drivers' personalities and families.
Pupils were asked to photograph a selection of sentimental objects on their ipads and then make observational drawings from them.
Unlike this artist these objects had meaning to the pupils.
They developed these further by using primary and secondary colours to add colour to their drawings. To complete they added sections of pattern too.

Students are encouraged to explore artists who work in a variety of media.
